Alabama Professor Helps Local Entrepreneurs Find Success

Culverhouse College of Business Professor of Management and James D. Nabors Instructional Excellence Faculty Fellow, Lou Marino visited the set of WVUA 23 to talk about the strong entrepreneurial community within the University of Alabama and it’s surrounding area and how The EDGE plays a role in its development. “What’s really been fascinating, if you look back at the number of businesses that have started in the Tuscaloosa community, and the state of Alabama, by UA grads, you’d be impressed,” says Marino.

Marino’s role at The EDGE is to work with students and business owners to create a curriculum and path to help them achieve success. “We’re looking for people who want to invest their time, talent or treasures. It’s not just money we’re looking for, [we’re looking for] people who want to buy in. Maybe, its someone who wants to come in and be a part of the challenge and the joy, frustration and the journey of creating a new business.”
