The Tuscaloosa Innovates Business Plan Competition has Concluded

Dates and Deadlines
Although the competition is virtual, there will be a video chat component that happens live on the afternoon of May 28. Click here for an overview of the competition format and additional guidelines. Click here to see the judging criteria.
Intent to Compete Submission: May 12 Presentation Video Uploaded and Business Plan Portal with Slide Deck created in StartupWind: May 20*

To help competitors prepare, two virtual information sessions will be held. During these sessions, the AEI team will discuss the judging criteria, presentation tips, and answer questions about how the virtual competition will operate. These information sessions are optional, and the information covered will be the same so attending both won’t be needed.
- Information Session 1 – Wednesday, May 13 from 12pm-1pm CDT
- Information Session 2 – Thursday, May 14 from 5pm-6pm CDT

New this year is a grand prize award of $10,000 sponsored by the Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority and up to $5,000 in funding to be awarded by sponsors from the Tuscaloosa Banking community. Other competition awards are sponsored by the Alabama Small Business Development Center and the Alabama Entreprenuership Institute.
